About the park

Formally opened by the Prince of Wales in January 1890, Poole Park offers 110 acres of open parkland, beautiful gardens, quiet spaces, other spaces to play tennis, cricket, bowls or crazy golf, to picnic, cycle, swing, slide & climb, and a large saline lagoon for waterfowl & watersports. Bordering Poole Harbour and within walking distance of the town centre, the park is a much-loved open space that retains its original Victorian plan, many original features and is registered by Historic England for its special historic interest.
